What we offer

  • Outdoor adventures, camps and hikes
  • Teamwork, leadership and life skills
  • Friendships and a supportive community
  • Activities for young people aged 6–18

Section meeting nights

  • Beavers (6–8): Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30pm – 7:00pm
  • Cubs (8–10½): Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6:00pm – 7:30pm
  • Scouts (10½–14): Thursday evenings, 7:30pm – 9:00pm, and Friday evenings, 6:30pm – 8:00pm
  • Explorers (14–18): Tuesday evenings, 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Joining our waiting list

We operate a single Group waiting list through Online Scout Manager (OSM) rather than separate waiting lists for each section.

Places are usually reviewed and offered during the school holidays between each term once we know the available capacity across the Group.

Due to the popularity of Scouting locally, waiting times can vary depending on age, available places and volunteer availability.

Could you volunteer?

1st Chalfont St Giles Scout Group is entirely volunteer-run and additional adult support helps us provide more places for local young people.

Even occasional help can make a big difference — whether assisting at meetings, helping with events, supporting camps or joining behind the scenes as a trustee or committee member.

No previous Scouting experience is needed and full support and training are provided.
