Beavers

Beavers are for young people aged 6 to 8. They are our youngest Scouts and enjoy games, activities, badges, outdoor adventures and making new friends.

Our Beaver Colonies

  • Grayburn Beavers — Tuesdays, 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
  • Captain Cook Beavers — Thursdays, 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

What do Beavers do?

Beavers begin their Scouting adventure by trying new activities, playing games, making friends and exploring the world around them. Activities are designed to be fun, varied and age-appropriate, helping young people build confidence and independence in a safe and welcoming environment.

Typical Beaver activities include:

  • games and team challenges
  • crafts, cooking and creative activities
  • outdoor adventures and nature activities
  • sleepovers and visits
  • earning badges and awards
  • helping others in the local community

Why join Beavers?

Beavers take their first steps into adventure, building confidence, teamwork and independence through fun activities and new experiences.

Beavers enjoy camps, hikes, themed evenings, community events and plenty of opportunities to try something new.

Who runs Beavers?

Each Beaver Colony is run by trained adult volunteers, supported by other leaders and helpers. Our volunteers plan activities, keep everyone safe and help Beavers get the most out of their time in Scouting.

Ready for adventure?

From outdoor activities and badge work to camps, games and making new friends, Beavers is all about building confidence and having fun.
