About Us

1st Chalfont St Giles Scout Group is a mixed youth organisation and has over 120 members, aged between 6 and 14.

As a Scout Group, we are a charity and aim to offer the children and youths of the local community fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so they can make a positive impact in communities.

We help our members develop Skills for Life including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, respect, cultural awareness and commitment. Through Scouting, we help our members grow into independent, confident and caring citizens.

We have records from 1927 showing 1st Chalfont St Giles Scout Group registered in the village, with the Group re-registered in 1946.

We were registered as a Charity in 1963 as 1st Chalfont St. Giles Scout Group.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
