Scouts

Scouts are for young people aged 10½ to 14. Scouts take on bigger adventures, develop leadership skills and build independence through challenging activities, teamwork and outdoor experiences.

Our Scout Troops

  • Cromwell Scouts — Thursdays, 7:30pm to 9:00pm.
  • Fleetwood Scouts — Fridays, 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

What do Scouts do?

Scouts continue their Scouting journey through exciting adventures, practical challenges and opportunities to take on more responsibility. Activities encourage young people to work together, lead others and grow in confidence while having fun.

Typical Scout activities include:

  • camping, hiking and expeditions
  • outdoor adventure activities
  • survival and pioneering skills
  • team challenges and competitions
  • community projects and volunteering
  • earning badges and awards

Scouts helps young people build resilience, leadership and independence while encouraging teamwork, problem-solving and responsibility.

Scouts regularly take part in camps, hikes, adventurous activities and community events that help prepare them for even greater opportunities in Explorers and beyond.

Who runs Scouts?

Each Scout Troop is run by trained adult volunteers, supported by assistant leaders and Young Leaders. Our volunteers provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can challenge themselves, learn new skills and make lifelong memories.
