Subscriptions

Subscriptions are paid termly via OSM using Direct Debit.

Our subscription fees help cover the day-to-day running costs of the Group and are broadly divided into three areas:

  • Administration – costs associated with running the Group and supporting membership of The Scouts, including membership fees, hall costs, equipment maintenance, leader training, website hosting and general administration.
  • Insurance – insurance cover for all members, leaders and helpers whilst taking part in Scouting activities.
  • Section activities – programme costs for weekly meetings and activities, including craft materials, badges, food and activity resources. These costs vary between sections depending on the programme being delivered.

Subscriptions do not include optional events and trips such as camps, activity weekends or external visits.

Investiture Fee

There is a one-off investiture fee of £10 payable when joining the Group.

This includes a necker (scarf), woggle and membership badges.

Subscription Fees

Subscription fees are currently £53 per term across all sections: Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.
