1st Chalfont St Giles Scout Group is run entirely by volunteers who give their time to support Scouting for young people within the local community.
Our volunteers help deliver adventurous activities, camps, skills, community events and the day-to-day running of the Group. Together they help provide safe, enjoyable and rewarding experiences for all young people involved in Scouting.
The Group is supported by three main volunteer teams:
Our section teams are made up of trained adult volunteers and Young Leaders who help deliver weekly meetings, activities, camps and events for young people across the Group.
Volunteers are supported through Scouts training and safety processes to help ensure young people can enjoy Scouting in a safe, welcoming and adventurous environment.
The Trustee Board helps oversee the administration, finance, property, governance and long-term running of the Scout Group.
Trustees play an important role behind the scenes, helping ensure the Group can continue to provide Scouting opportunities for young people in Chalfont St Giles.
The annual village fireworks display is one of the Group’s biggest fundraising events and helps support the running of the Scout Hut, equipment, activities and facilities used by young people across the Group.
The Fireworks Committee works throughout the year alongside volunteers and local supporters to help organise and deliver the event.
